Software Testing Analyst

Job Summary: The Software Testing Analyst is responsible for testing new versions, or service releases of GeoComm software products; including the creation of test plans, documents, and videos. The Software Testing Analyst may also assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of system and operational issues. Essential Job Duties: 1. Executes and analyses particular test scenarios. Documents the outcomes of tests so that they are repeatable. 2. Working knowledge of relational database software, data communications software, and hardware required for operating GeoComm products. Builds product installers. 3. Understand how GeoComm products integrate technically. Has knowledge of the product business functionality. Able to communicate functionality. 4. Verifies the quality of the applications. Applications need to meet the necessary requirements for scalability, stress, negativity, usability, performance, and GeoComm standards. 5. Communicates with appropriate GeoComm staff to solve operational issues and results of testing. Utilizes the appropriate tracking applications. Creates project summaries. 6. Designs, builds, and maintains application system test plans. Records progress against test plans. Ensures test plans are formalized. 7. Prepares a regular status report of projects in process. Meets with supervisor and development teams on a regular basis to discuss progress and variations from the original design documents and technical approach used in the project. Creates appropriate documentation for the technical writing. Essential Universal Job Duties: 8. Improves self in any way possible to enhance job performance. 9. Functions as a team member by assisting, supporting, and encouraging other employees in any way possible. 11. Performs related work as required; willingly and eagerly. 12. Meets deadlines as required. 13. Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. 14. Maintains a neat and organized work area. Minimum Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in BCIS, CS, CNA, or other technical discipline Related Experience: 1 year Desirable Training and Experience: 1. Superior communications skills, (verbal and written) and a positive can-do attitude. 2. Ability to react quickly and decisively with strong problem solving skills. 3. Willingness to diligently pursue issues until they are successfully resolved. 4. Ability to become proficient in all of GeoComm’s software products. 5. Experience with SQL queries and various Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) including Microsoft SQL Server. 6. Experience with HTML, VBScript, or other scripting languages. 7. Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS). 8. Experience with GIS and Esri’s ArcGIS products including ArcGIS Server. 9. Experience with agile software development methodologies. 10. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
