Product Specialist

Position Summary & Major Responsibilities: The Product Specialist draws upon many talents to get the job done " excellent communication skills, time and project management abilities, and analytical prowess are a must. The primary responsibility of a successful Product Specialist is to ensure the product we deliver is well defined, understood, and is implemented and used with success. The Product Specialist performs a variety of tasks related to enhancing and promoting our products. These include assisting internal staff with product education, custom development projects, and product demonstrations. The Product Specialist acts as the primary liaison between the product team and its customers, within Telvent and outside the company as well. A Product Specialist will gain and apply strong domain knowledge as we develop tools that transform the way our user community conducts their business. The Product Specialist will advocate for the product and its users from inception into its maturity. Duties and Responsibilities: - Track progress on specific product enhancements - Validate functional requirements, architecture, and user interface design with internal staff and external clients - Use detailed knowledge of our products to provide assistance and direction to internal teams: o Quality Assurance for testing, test plan development and troubleshooting o Marketing for demonstrations and pre-sales activities o Technical Support and Applications teams with developer and implementation issues o Technical Documentation as they document new tools or enhancements - Help create, promote and evangelize product vision. - Keep abreast of latest developments related to the product domain and competition marketplace. - Occasional travel required. Education & Experience Preferred: • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, GIS or related field • Strong inter-personal, written, and oral communication skills • Training or experience using ESRI products • Experience working with electric, gas, water and waste water utilities • Project Management experience • Must pass background check Telvent offers competitive wages and benefits including life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage at no cost to employees, partially paid health and dental insurance for you and your dependents, tuition and training reimbursement, Section 125 plan, 401(k) retirement plan, Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, vacation and sick time.
