GISintersect(dot)com was established in 2009 to provide the community with news on geographic information systems. They aim to provide the community with basic news and data updates, in addition to articles on scientific GIS use, focusing on political science and geography.

GISintersect(dot)com is maintained by Andreas Forø Tollefsen, MA student in Geography at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, currently employed as a research assistant at the Peace Research Institute, Oslo.
